  How are tree root and heavy oil spot areas repaired ? 

These areas can be "patched" . This entails using a asphalt cutting machine and cutting around the perimeter of  the damaged areas. The asphalt is removed with any surface tree roots. The areas are cleaned of debris and a tack coat (glue) is applied to the exposed lime rock base. We than fill and level using D.O.T. approved plant mix hot asphalt and compact the new patches with either a vibratory plate wacker or asphalt roller .

   Do you need to slow down vehicles in your community and keep the residents and children safe ?

Our staff can meet with you and walk your property and help in determining the best location to install asphalt speed bumps. After installation the speed bumps are painted yellow using D.O.T. approved acrylic latex traffic paint.

   Do you have areas of the parking lot you would like to keep free of vehicles ?

We can help in designing  and painting "no parking" and "fire lane" areas .

   How is a busy parking lot sealed and striped ?

We will design a seal coat schedule with you that will allow for pedestrian and traffic flow while the parking lot is under repairs . We provide and setup barricades for all of  our parking lot projects . We can even show up early and block off areas with barricades and "caution" tape.

   How does asphalt sealer protect the parking lot ?

The sealer is a paint like liquid when dry provides a protective coating on top of the asphalt surface. This protective coat slows down the damaging effects of uv lighting (sun) , oil dripping from vehicles , and rain entering into the sub base through cracks .

  Why is sand added to the sealer and will this help fill cracks and holes ?

Silica sand is added to the sealer to provide a ruff surface on the parking lot . This ruff  surface is beneficial in traction when the parking lot surface becomes wet. Too much silica sand added to the sealer will cause the sealer to loose its flexibility properties and in some cases can peel off the surface of the asphalt. The asphalt sealer will not fill cracks or holes.

   Why are traffic signs so important inside a parking lot ?

Traffic signs such as "stop", "one way" , and "do not enter" are a integral part of the traffic flow and design of the parking lot. Missing , faded , or bent signs can become a hazard and lead to pedestrian or vehicle accidents. When your property is seal coated any signs missing or damaged should be replace. We install all signs to correct Public Works code and anchor all post in concrete.

   How often should a parking lot be sealed and striped ?

Many factors determine this including amount of vehicle traffic a parking lot receives , the texture of the parking lot surface (ruff or smooth) , and how often is the parking lot sealed . A good rule of thumb is between three and four years.

  A well maintained parking lot will increase overall curb appeal , reduce exposure to lawsuits, and fresh lines help create a smooth flow of vehicular traffic.

Asphalt is more economical to use than concrete. It is much more cost effective to construct , remove or repair than concrete.

Asphalt roads are built in layers with each layer adding it's strength to the road. When the road wears approximately every twelve years only about two inches of the road thickness is removed through milling. Than a new two inches is added to the existing layers of the road system.

Approximately 93 % of roads are surfaced with asphalt.

The asphalt industry reclaims about 65 million tons of it's own product every year and reuses or recycles about 99 percent of it . This reclamation comes from contractors who mill roads or parking lots and from repairs (patching) of parking lots.

Some local and state governments require the use of recycled asphalt for it's projects. The asphalt can even contain recycled glass , rubber (which is used in the friction course) , and recycled asphalt roof shingles.
